3:15 pm to 4:30 pm Educational Program - Generations in the Workplace presented by Garrett Wheat & Marcus Sylvas, MBA, MS, SHRM-CP, La DOTD

Having a foundational knowledge of generations is important to understand how diverse the various generations are. As communication shows importance for engagement and trusting, a lack of communication could cause conflict, high rates of turnover, and impacts to personal perceptions. By understanding the workplace is shifting, recognizing the distinct characteristics of each generation, we can communicate effectively across all generations. For this session, learn how self-awareness plays an important role in effective leadership and management across various generations in the workplace. Be prepared to interact with your peers, participate in a group activities, and embrace different perspectives on leadership and communication.

Takeaways:

  • Compare Self-Awareness to Leadership
  • Define and compare the characteristics of the various generations currently in the workforce, and those who will join the workforce in the near future.
  • Compare and contrast communication styles across generations
  • Discuss generational differences and issues that change and impact work relationships and communication methods.

9:30 am to 11:00 am Educational Program - Utilizing AI for Meeting Professionals presented by Garrett Wheat

With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), every sector of work has been asking, “Will this replace me?” AI has developed a broad range of skills, so this question is not completely irrelevant. Many AI software programs have been created to assist with the formation and development of textual, audible, and visual artifacts. However, AI should be viewed more as a tool that will help to enhance productivity, not replace employees. In this session, we’ll take a hands-on approach to look at text, audio, and visual tools to assist the meeting professional of the 21st Century!

Learning Objectives:

• Attendees will be able to recognize the various types of AI tools available.

• Attendees will demonstrate how to use all forms of AI Generative models to create content in an ethical manner.

• Attendees will understand how to leverage AI in the various job duties of a meeting professional.

Bring your Laptop to this session.
